FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

1. HOW DO I CHECK AVAILABILITY?

Studio availability can be checked via the BOOK ONLINE page. Simply choose your hire type/duration and click the CHECK AVAILABILITY & BOOK button. You will be taken to a calendar. Select your preferred date. You will be shown times at which you could START your desired booking. If no times are showing, try a shorter length booking. If no times still show then the studio is booked out that day.

2. HOW DO I BOOK?

All bookings are accepted online only via this website. Please don't not call us to make a booking as you will be directed back to this website to make your booking. Simply visit the BOOK ONLINE page, choose your hire type/duration, click CHECK AVAILABILITY & BOOK and follow the prompts.

3. CAN I BOOK NOW AND PAY LATER?

No. All bookings are paid for in advance.

4. WHAT IF I WISH TO CANCEL MY BOOKING? CAN I GET A REFUND?

Please see our CANCELATION POLICY on our BOOK ONLINE page. Should you wish to cancel or reschedule any bookings please call or email us via the CONTACT page.

5. HOW DO I ACCESS THE STUDIO?

Once you have booked via this website you will receive a confirmation email which will provide access instructions. Please ensure you have this email handy on the day of your booking. If you did not receive a confirmation email or you have any access issues please CONTACT us.

6. THE HALLWAY DOOR OFF THE WAITING ROOM IS SHUT, HOW DO I GET IN?

Push it.

7. DOES THE STUDIO PROVIDE FLASH TRIGGERS OR FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT?

No. Our lighting is all switch on/switch off lighting only. All flash photography equipment is BYO. All available equipment is listed on our EQUIPMENT page.

8. IS THERE A SEPARATE CHANGE ROOM?

No. There is a bathroom/kitchen area which can be used to change or there are two white shelves which if covered with a sheet can form a partition behind which your model can change inside the studio itself.

9. WHERE IS THE LIGHT SWITCH?

The switch for the overhead fluorescent lights is on the wall in the hallway opposite the studio door.

10. THE LCD TV WON'T WORK.

Ensure it is switched on at the wall and that the power cable is plugged into the tv (sometimes users unplug it). The power switch is located high up on the wall near the window at the eastern end of the studio (furthest away from the backdrops). 

11. CAN I INSPECT THE STUDIO BEFORE HIRING?

We have extensive images available on this website and there really isn't much more to see. What you see in these pictures is what you get when you hire. The studio is simple and basic. It is designed to be an affordable create resource for creative people. We are not a fully fitted professional photographic studio. We provide a basic and cost effective alternative for creative projects on a budget. That said, if it is imperative for you to scout the location before your hire, please CONTACT US

12. IS THERE DISABLED OR LIFT ACCESS?

No. One flight of stairs must be ascended to reach our first floor studio.

13. CAN I EXTEND MY SESSION ON THE DAY?

If the studio is not otherwise booked, yes. Just jump on our website and book more time. If the website shows availability directly after your original finish time, you can simply book it. Please note our booking system only shows START times and takes into account the length of your requested booking. So for example, if your session is ending at 7pm but you want to extend by 4hrs, the system will not show you any availability for a 4hr booking because our studio hours are only 8am-10pm. However if you choose a shorter booking, it may show you 7pm as an option to start a 3hrs booking for example.

14. CAN I LEAVE EQUIPMENT OVERNIGHT?

No. All equipment must be removed at the conclusion of your hire on any given day. The studio cannot guarantee the safety of any equipment left in the studio. Any equipment left behind may be thrown out or taken by other hirers, so please ensure you take all your equipment with you when you leave.
